The Cookie Jar (Crumblin’ Cookie)

About The Cookie Jar (Crumblin’ Cookie)

Established in 2005, ‘the cookie’ is an independent cafe bar / venue that has built up a strong reputation for a warm and friendly environment. In 2012 they launched ‘The Cookie Jar’ in the basement of the coffee shop that has already built a strong reputation for live music, comedy and theatre.

‘The Crumblin’ Cookie’ has also won many awards including a trio of awards from Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival including “Best New Venue” (2010) and  ”Best Venue” (2011 & 2012). This has certainly given it a credible platform to host many different events and we are delighted to announce ‘the cookie’ as the 2011 Fringe Thursday comedy host.

The Crumblin’ Cookie line up for Fringe Thursday is:

TopThe Daydream Club

2012 has been an incredible year so far for Paula Walker and Adam Pickering aka The Daydream Club. Continuing the momentum they have built since the release of their debut album ‘Overgrown’, the past year has seen them release  singles On The Move (part II) and Neon Love Song (part II). The duo also fronted a Burberry fashion campaign and featured on the Coke Olympic Torch Tour. We are such big fans we named them one of our Picks of the Fringe and will go on to play at Summer Sundae following their headline performance at The Cookie Jar.

TopPeter Wyeth

Words alone can not do Peter Wyeth justice. His emotive and atmospheric performances simply have to be seen to be believed. Peter uses anything at his disposal to create music that speaks of the wonder of the world around him. Acoustic guitars and upside down tunings, mobile phones and looper pedals, singing birds and glockenspiels, riding bikes and early mornings, starry nights and radio static. Whatever it takes to bring the inside out and the outside in.

TopElizabeth Cornish

Elizabeth Cornish is a talented folk pop singer songwriter whose reputation has been growing since winning the Acoustic Original Bands Showcase in 2011 resulting in a captivating early morning performance in the Musician tent at last years Summer Sundae festival. Elizabeth has since expanded her sound to a full band with Jason Smith (bass), Adam Wykes (drums) and Mark Riley Cardwell (guitar). They are currently recording a debut album due for release in early 2013.

TopNatalie Squance

Natalie Squance has been a rising star on the acoustic scene for a number of years and in 2012 released her debut album ‘In Your Apple Tree’. She has appeared at Summer Sundae festival and this year see’s her debut Fringe Thursday appearance. We think the future is bright for Natalie and is definitely one to look out for.
